Spring 2027: CSE 691 – Materials for Modern Semiconductor Technology

This course introduces the materials science behind modern semiconductor devices, and discusses how the properties of channel materials, gate dielectrics, and contacts determine transistor performance. The course then examines how materials enable functions beyond logic, such as ferroelectric and magnetic materials for memory, wide-bandgap semiconductors for power electronics, and light emitters and quantum materials for photonics and qubits.
Fall 2026: CSE 400/691 – Semiconductor Fabrication and Emerging Technologies

This course introduces the fundamentals of semiconductor fabrication processes, and discusses how these processes come together to build modern semiconductor devices such as transistors and memories. The course further explores emerging semiconductor materials and technologies beyond physical limits of traditional silicon scaling.
